A group of over 100 individuals, believed to be political thugs, forcefully entered the venue, causing chaos and interrupting the collation and announcement of results. Journalists present were attacked and their cameras were destroyed, despite the presence of armed security personnel, the thugs managed to invade the venue.

In response, the APC made a statement from National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka. He said that only the Uzodimma-led committee has the authority to officially announce the results of the governorship primary election.
