Boluwatife Vincent Ajogwu was born on the 8th of April, 1997. He was born at Okpokwu LGA in Benue State and grew up in Kainji, Niger State, Nigeria. As a growing child, music was captivating and fun for him. He was part of his church choir and learned to play different kinds of musical instruments in the church.
While he was still in secondary school, the singer made freestyles and sang for his friends. During this phase, Major AJ became certain he wanted to be a professional Musician. As he progresses towards taking music as his career, his mother was not in full support. She wanted him to focus on school and an academic career instead.
With time, Boluwatife proved himself to his mother, who began to support and respect his career choice. His name “Major AJ” is very meaningful to him because it was coined by his late father, who was a Major in the Nigerian Army.
In 2020, he relocated to Lagos State and started recording and making lots of songs. He is one of the latest signees to the Chocolate City Record Label. His EP “Retroverse” is a great artwork, comprising various amazing songs that depict disco and retro-inspired features.
