Mfon Bassey Essien, who is popularly known by his stage name Mista Styles. He was a former member of the music group The Trybesmen (which is now defunct). Born on January 19th, 1980 in Ikot Abasi, Akwa-Ibom state, Nigeria.

Mista Style was originally in a music band of three before he decided to go solo. Sources claim that the musical trio had an internal feud and decided it was best to split.

Shortly after, Mista Styles emerged as a solo artist. He is known to be one of the pioneers of the Afrobeat vibes. He released an album titled “free at least”, where he featured various Nigerian legends (eg 2face, Sasha, etc).
