Who Is CKay?

Chukwuka Ekwaeni, also known popularly by his stage name, CKay, is a Nigerian Afrobeat songwriter and singer, born on the 16th of July, 1995. He is known popularly with the hit song Love Nwantinti. Asong which was the first Nigerian song to top the bill board and was the most streamed song on Spotify.

CKay’s Biography: Where is CKay From?

Chukwuka Ekwaeni was born in Kaduna into the Family of Dr and Mrs Ekwaeni, although his father hails from Anambra State, Nigeria. He Started music at a pretty young age, and according to him he claims his passion for music originated from his father.

According to the fact that his dad was the choir leader of their local church. CKay mentioned that he was always in aww of the instrument during rehearsal and that triggered his likeness for music. His father, Dr Ekwaeni quickly noticed his fondness for music. Specifically when he showed interest to learn how to play the piano.

His father ensured he was properly grounded with the piano and gave CKay all the motivation he needed. CKay was introduced to a musical app called Loppy Music by his friend and that was what started his musical career.

Ckay started of as in a band along with two other of his friends but he 2014 he broke out of the band and started his solo career. Today, he is one of the most promising talents to emerge from Nigeria. He has songs with various artist, both local and international.
