Devine Ikubor, also known popularly by the stage name, REMA. He is a Nigerian singer, musician and rapper, born May 1, 2000. Devine Ikubor is currently signed to Jonzing record, which is a subsidiary of Mavins record, where the likes of Boy Spyce and Ayra Starr are also signed to.

Rema’s Biography

Devine Ikubor was born and raised in a strong Christian home in Benin. Despite the fact he lost his Dad and elder brother at a pretty young age, he never lost his faith. He started sing and rapping since his early secondary school days.

Rema started attaining fame after releasing numerous freestyle videos on Instagram. Particularly, the freestyle on Gucci Gang and Spiderman caught the attention of D-Prince, who is the CEO of Jonzing recoord.

Rema rose to fame in 2019 after he dropped a banger, Dumebi, a song which caught the heart of millions of Nigerians. Afterwards, he caught the attention of Don Jazzy, who quickly negotiated with Jonzing record on a shared contract for Rema.

Today, Devine Ikubor has stamped his name in the heart of many Nigerians with his sound which he calls Afrorave. He claims it is a mixture of Afrobeat and trap, influenced with Arabic and Indian vibes, truly a talented young lad.

Rema recently gain admission in Lagos State University and is still being questioned over his prolonged absence from classes.
